'Burford Postcards - Group Reminiscences' led by David Cohen

Burford postcards were an early, highly popular form of ‘social media’, long before the term was invented by today’s digital age.

Join David Cohen to discover which are the Burford Tolsey Archive’s twelve most popular ‘postcard postings’ to date on Facebook and hear some of the comments they have generated. The format for this, our final event of the 2022/23 season of Tolsey Talks, will be a relaxed chat which will enable everyone to share and exchange their reminiscences with others online.

Jan and David came to Burford in 1980 when they purchased The Highway Hotel. David says that "over 25 years we enjoyed countless hours talking with locals of all ages about their time in Burford and, looking back, I suppose this is what fired my interest in the social history of our wonderful Town. One time Mayor, and long time Councillor, my interest has never wained and has been strengthened by my involvement with the setting up of the Burford Tolsey Archive".
