About the Event

Sir Stafford Cripps; Labour Party M.P. Barrister and diplomat. In the 1920s and 1930s he helped to  provide Filkins with the facilities it now enjoys. Explore with Richard this fascinating character and the changes he made

Richard Martin read chemical engineering and then medieval and modern history at UCL, did various things(!), and has been weaving woollen cloth since 1976, first in West Wales, then in the Cotswolds and West Yorkshire. Currently he and his partner, Trish Poole, operate Cotswold Woollen Weavers in Filkins, and The Blanket Hall in Witney High Street. Both are open to the public every Wednesday to Saturday.
