The 'Topping Out' of the Archive's new home will be on Wed 8th December at noon. This traditional celebration of progress, (because the project will not be completed until next year), which was brought here by the Vikings in the 8th century, signifies the completion of the roof and involves placing an evergreen branch upon the highest point to symbolise growth and bring luck.
