Celebrating Progress and Looking Ahead

At their exclusive Reception on the 30th July, over 90 Donors present were welcomed by David Cohen the Chairman of the Falkland Hall Charity who explained that the Charity had paid for the purchase of the lease of Swan Lane Barn (in anticipation of buying the freehold) and has committed a further £150,000 for the conversion of a studio flat within the barn. To date, fundraising for the Archive has raised £203,000, with help from Trusts, Community Event and Individual Gifts. This leaves us a further £80,000 to raise to complete the project“

David went on to thank everyone who has so generously contributed, before handing over to Clendon Daukes, who as its new Chairman, explained the future plans, aspirations and consequent constitutional changes that are needed to establish the new single entity of the ‘Burford Tolsey – Museum & Archive’. Clendon concluded by thanking the local businesses who had so generously sponsored the total cost of the Reception.
